Educator Philosophy - Julia Braga Navarro

As an educator, I believe that children are capable, curious, and active participants in their own learning journey. Guided by Jean Piaget's Constructivist theory, I view learning as an active process in which children build knowledge through exploration, experimentation, problem-solving, and hands-on discovery. I aim to create environments that are safe, engaging, and rich in opportunities for independent thinking and meaningful learning.

I am also strongly influenced by Lev Vygotsky's sociocultural theory, which emphasises the role of social interaction, relationships, and language in children's development. Through strategies such as scaffolding, modelling, and open-ended questioning, I support each child within their Zone of Proximal Development, helping them extend their thinking and reach new levels of understanding.

This schedule provides a balanced mix of free play, structured activities, educational experiences and physical movement. Adjustments may be made based on children's individual needs and the flow of the day.

8:00 AM - 9:00 AM: Arrival and Free Play
9:00 AM - 9:30 AM: Morning Tea
9:30 AM - 10:00 AM: Group Time
10:00 AM - 11:30 AM: Indoor / Outdoor Learning Experiences
11:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Lunch
12:00 PM - 2:30 PM: Nap / Quiet Time
2:30 PM - 3:00 PM: Wake Up Time and Transitions
3:00 PM - 3:30 PM: Afternoon Tea
